A revised edition of the Prayer Booklet ‘Hawn, Aħna Mulej’ issued by the Diocesan Commission for the Family is available. This 60 page booklet contains short prayers for all members of the family at different phases in life. 26th November 2010: The Diocesan Commission for the Family held a seminar for all members of Parish Commissions for the Family, at the Archbishop’s Seminary, Tal-Virtu’. Mrs Rita Borg Xuereb, the Diocesan Commission's President presented a detailed report about the work carried out by the Diocesan Commission in the last twelve months. During the seminar, Fr Vince Magri s.j. spoke about the building of an authentic marital and family spirituality. Rev. Dr Mark Sultana informed those present about new courses the Pastoral Formation Institute, together with the Diocesan Commission are planning for the members of the Parish Commissions for the Family. This seminar was very well attended.  




22nd October 2010: A Conference was held at the Catholic Institute to mark the 27th anniversary from the setting up of the Charter of the Rights of the Family by Pope John Paul II. This Conference was organised by ProgettImpenn with the subject being ‘The Charter of the Rights of the Family – is it still relevant today?’ This question was addressed by speaker Fr Renč Camilleri . Dr. Rita Borg Xuereb, Chairperson of the Diocesan Commission for the Family and ProgettImpenn chaired the Conference. 15th May 2010: National Conference – Rolling Back the Tide of Marriage Breakdown. Being World Family Day ProgettImpenn held a National Conference at the Phoenicia Hotel with Judge Paul Coleridge as main speaker. Madam Judge Anna Felice chaired the conference and H. E. Bishop Mario Grech, Isqof gave the concluding speech. 14th February 2010: World Marriage Day. Fr. Vince Magri celebrated mass at the Augustine Sisters Chapel in Fleur-de-Lys. Members from various local Parish Commission for the Family attended this mass which was also broadcasted on the local TVM station.  




13th February 2010: National Conference – The Maltese Families – Facts and Figures – A National Conference to mark the end of Mariage Week was organised by ProgettImpenn at the Phoenicia Hotel. Mr Michael Pace Ross, Mr. Etienne Caruana, and Mr. Clyde Caruana, from the N.S.O. and Mons. Anton Gouder were speakers at this conference. Archbishop, Mgr Pawl Cremona O.P., concluded the conference.  




6th February 2010: National Conference – Towards a Healthy Marriage - A National Conference organised by ProgettImpenn was held at the Phoenicia Hotel to mark the start of Marriage Week. The Speakers were Hon. Dr. Lawrence Gonzi, Prime Minister of Malta, Hon. Dr. Joseph Muscat, Leader of the Oppostion, Mrs. Kate Gonzi and Mrs. Michelle Muscat. 17th October 2009: National Conference – Do Marriage and the Family still have a Future? -This Conference was organised by ProgettImpenn, having as Speaker  Profs. Aldegonde Brennickmeijer- Werhnan.  The Conference was chaired by Dr. Rita Borg Xuereb and Profs. Rev. Emmanuel Agius concluded the conference.  Speeches can be viewed in the articles section.  




18th June 2009: Il-Ħidma tal-KPF fiż-Żmien tal-Lum. Din il-laqgħa saret fis-Seminarju tal-Virtu, bejn 7.00pm sad-9.00pm  




A Seminar was held on Friday 15th May 2009 (World Family Day) from 6.30p.m. to 8.30p.m. at the Robert Samut Hall in Floriana. This seminar is being organised by ProgettImpenn to mark its first anniversary. ProgettImpenn is the Task Force of the Diocesan Family Commission together with Cana Movement and Caritas, which aims to promote healthier and stronger marriages. The main speaker will be Mgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo. Hon. Carm Mifsud Bonnici and Hon. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca will also be giving short speeches. The subject for this seminar is 'Il-Futur : Fil-Familja', The Future is in the Family. Speeches can be viewed in the articles section.  




7th February 2009: A half-day National Conference with the theme being ‘Żwieġ – Quo Vadis’ was held at St. Agatha auditorium in Rabat. This Conference was organised by ProgettImpenn, the Task Force of the Diocesan Family Commission together with Cana Movement and Caritas which aims to promote healthier and stronger marriages. The main speakers were Mr. Harry Benson, founder of the Bristol Community Family Trust with the paper ‘Marriage the Hard Way or the Easy Way, and Rev. Dr. Paul Galea, pastoral psychology lecturer at the University of Malta with a paper on the situation of marriage and families in Malta titled ‘Zwieg – Quo Vadis? MP’s Hon. Edwin Vassalo and Hon. Dr. Justyne Caruana gave their reactions to Fr. Galea’s paper. Archbishop, Mgr Pawl Cremona O.P., concluded the conference. 




22nd October 2008: A seminar was held at the Catholic Institute to commemorate the 25th anniversary from the setting up of the Charter of the Rights of the Family by Pope John Paul II. The seminar was opened by the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See, H.E. Archbishop Mgr Tommaso Caputo. Pro Vicar General Fr. Anton Gouder also addressed the Assembly. Dr. Rita Borg Xuereb, Chairperson of the Diocesan Commission for the Family presented the results of the suggestions made in the National Discussion that was launched on the 15 May as part of the International Day of the Family. 




June 2008: Discussions recommenced in the planning of courses in the Pastoral Ministry sector with respect to 'Family', both on the Diocesan and the Parrochial level between the Diocesan Commission for the Family, the Cana Movement and the Institute for Pastoral Formation.




29th May 2008: A meeting was held for all local Parish Family Commissions, the subject matter being "Where we stand and where we are heading." The attendence for this meeting was that of 140 participants. The new KDF work plan was looked through and an evaluation of what was stated in forms that had been filled in by the KPF themselves earlier in the year, was presented. 10 Focus Groups discussed what can be done to help Parish Family Commissions in various parishes.




15th May 2008: A Press Conference was held on the International Day of the Families, where as part of the campaign 'All in favour of a Healthy Marriage' a National Discussion was launched together with a poster Zwieg b'Sahhtu - l-Idejal Possibbli (Strong Marriage - The Ideal is Possible).




23rd April 2008: The members of the Diocesan Commission for the Family met Archbishop Pawl Cremona O.P. to discuss a work plan and that which he wishes the commission to accomplish.




20th April 2008: A one day Seminar was held for the members of the Diocesan Commission for the Family.




February 2008: A 'Task Force' was set up by the Diocesan Commission for the Family together with Cana Movement and Caritas. This 'Task Force' by the name of PROGETTIMPENN, (Commitment Project) plans to continue working towards a Healthy Marriage and to promote its values.




27th October 2007: A National Conference having as its subject 'A Health Marriage', was held with Profs. Samantha Callan as the main speaker. In this Conference the Family Research Office of Discern gave a talk on research they did on the Family. As a result of this Conference, the Diocesan Commission for the Family, Cana Movement and Caritas wrote a memorandum on healthy marriage which was presented to all political parties.
